Project Log: Here

Inspiration is something we're really proud of here at bit-tech. We have so many fantastic mods, scratch builds and even the odd Dream PC landing on our shores that it's impossible for all of us not to be inspired. Whether this spawns a new project, a new 3D render for our gallery or simply the desire to build a new PC, it's all about inspiration.

It was an unusual case that bit-tech looked at in 2006 that created the inspiration for his latest project and Breach is well on the way to making it become a reality. The case in question was a very unusual PYPE Invasion iX which features an elongated 'X' shaped chassis which has enough room inside for water cooling.

The final idea was to make a slightly smaller version of the Invasion which is LAN party orientated and 'packed full liquid cooling'. Sounds interesting!

We thought things had started with a bang when we first came across Breach's project log. The case seemed to be nearly complete, however it turns out that initial pictures were of a scale model made of foam which Breach made to see how things would fit and go together. We can clearly see how the system would be orientated inside the case with the motherboard tray an a Dangerden radiator in position.

Above we can see where the hard drives will be installed and also the beginnings of the real case made of acrylic after plenty of work with a hack saw and jigsaw.

After doing a neat job with the hard drives, Breach set about creating some back lit surrounds for the radiator using amber coloured flame polished acrylic and orange LEDs. They look tasty already!

In the latest updates to the project log, Breach has uploaded some pictures of the case with the other end piece of acrylic attached along with the motherboard tray and motherboard itself having been installed.
